Millet is one of the most popular grain of choices to use in mushroom cultivation. The small – rounded millet grain is perfect for setting inoculation points for the mycelium to feast and spread upon at a quick rate. Millet is nutriousious and is packed with calcium, zinc, magnesium, iron, vitamin b6, phosphorus and folate. Expect to grow awesome yields with Spore Daddy’s sterilized millet grain.
HOW WE PREP. –
We are full on believers of the flash prep for this specific grain. In fact it is the only grain Spore Daddy flash preps. Flash prepping is another term for force – hydration of hydrating the grain. We clean our millet off by rinsing and straining several times removing dirt and debris before packing into our unicorn bags. We sterilize all of our grains in our 150 L Bonsai autoclave at 17 PSI for 3 hours. Once sterilization is complete, we remove our bags in front of a laminar flow hood, give the bags a nice “hot shake” to distribute moisture and heat seal the bags for maximum protection against contamination entering the bag. Injection ports are placed on the bag to provide you a easy and safe way to inoculate your grains with your mushroom culture of choice to begin your grow. Always wipe down injection ports with 70% Isopropyl alcohol right before you inject your culture to eliminate any possible chances of contaminates during inoculation.
